Portable Conveniences was founded in 2018 by Robert Henderson, a portable sanitation industry veteran with over 15 years of experience in fleet logistics and construction site services.

What started as a local operation in Los Angeles has grown into a nationwide service provider with 800+ rental units, 50+ technicians across our service partner network, and over 2,000 completed projects – but our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction remains unchanged.

How We Began

Robert Henderson spent more than a decade working in fleet logistics and construction site sanitation before launching Portable Conveniences. He saw the same problems at every job site and event: unreliable deliveries, poorly maintained units, and service providers who treated sanitation as an afterthought. He knew there was a better way.

From day one, we invested in high-quality portable toilets and made cleanliness our top priority. We built relationships with our first clients by delivering on schedule, maintaining every unit to our servicing standards, and responding to calls within the hour. Word spread quickly, and what began as a small fleet serving local events and construction sites soon expanded to meet growing demand across California and beyond.

As our client base grew, so did our capabilities. We listened to what construction contractors, event planners, and facility managers actually needed and expanded our inventory to include standard portable restrooms, luxury restroom trailers with climate control, ADA-compliant accessible units, freestanding hand-washing stations, and portable shower trailers.

Project Spotlight

A commercial general contractor coordinating a 7-month road widening project in California required 18 construction-grade units across two staging areas, bi-weekly servicing, and documented OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 compliance for their site safety records.

Units were on-site within 24 hours of booking, serviced on a fixed Tuesday/Friday schedule throughout the project, and removed the morning after final inspection.

What Drives Us

Reliable sanitation is not a luxury – it is essential. Whether you are managing a construction site that must meet OSHA requirements under 29 CFR 1926.51 – which mandates a minimum of one toilet per 20 workers on active sites – hosting a 500-guest wedding, or coordinating disaster relief with a municipal agency, you need a partner who delivers and maintains units without fail.

All Portable Conveniences operations follow Portable Sanitation Association International (PSAI) guidelines for unit cleanliness, waste disposal, and environmental responsibility.

Standard rentals include weekly pump-out, cleaning, and supply restocking; construction sites with crews of 40 or more are serviced twice weekly, and event units receive a full service charge before every deployment.

We carry full general liability and commercial auto insurance on every delivery, and all waste is transported and disposed of at licensed treatment facilities in compliance with EPA and state environmental regulations.
